Definition of a Trustee
an individual person or member of a board given control or powers of administration of property in trust with a legal obligation to administer it solely for the purposes specified.
I work as a Trustee for Radio Cherwell on a local level, ensuring the charity meets its objectives set out in its constitution and connects with organisations throughout Oxfordshire.
I am also a Trustee of the Hospital Broadcasting Association, the national charity that looks after hospital broadcasting in the UK, representing over 230 member stations nationwide.
Why did you become a Trustee?
For Radio Cherwell, I became a Trustee so I could help guide the station forward and share the knowledge I picked up during my time at University to help achieve this. Being a Trustee on a local level also allows me to input into big decisions the station has to make both internally, and externally to other organisations, departments and businesses that use our services and support us.
Nationally, I became a Trustee of the Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) because I wanted to help promote hospital broadcasting on a national level. I want to help the HBA move forward in the right direction, utilise new technologies and engage its member stations (230+ of them) and really promote hospital broadcasting to the nation.
