Hello, I’m Ian Pinnell, an award winning broadcaster & media creative from the UK.
I’ve always had an interest in the media and have been involved in the radio side of things since 2006. It began at Radio Cherwell in Oxford. In 2014, I won gold in the Male Presenter of the Year category at the National Hospital Radio Awards. I’ve also had the opportunity to interview the likes of former UK Prime Minister David Cameron and sportsman Sir Roger Bannister.
I ran my own business for a time, where I produced audio and radio ads for a variety of clients. My work has been heard by students across the UK via audio produced for exam board AQA and publishers Pearson, whilst audio I have produced for radio (including ads) have been heard on Heart FM, Wychwood FM, BBC Radio Gloucestershire and OX105 FM just to name a few.
I currently serve as the Communications Executive for the Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA), a national charity that oversees over 200 hospital radio stations across the country. I lead on national campaigns and the overall communications strategy for the organisation. The role involves everything from PR, Communications, graphic design, marketing and social media work. I’m also a Trustee of the organisation.
On a local level, I am the Publicity Officer for Radio Cherwell, Oxford’s Hospital Radio Station, ensuring the station is publicised well in the community and dealing with both internal and external communications.
You’ll find me blogging about aspects of the media, sharing my thoughts on marketing as well as my own news every now and again.
I’m also available to help you with your project; whether it’s to offer advice, help you produce a campaign, or talk to you or your team. Just drop me a line.
